Powering NH's Timber Products in 2025Offering a unique insight into how a longstanding local business has embraced renewable energy to ensure its sustainability for future generations.

In their commitment to sustainability and innovation, Wilkins Lumber recently installed a solar array at their sawmill. This project was made possible through a combination of funding sources, including a loan from the NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) covering 75% of the expense, and a USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant. ​

The solar installation is expected to produce approximately 176,000 kilowatt-hours per year, offsetting 63% of the mill's historical energy use and saving roughly $56,000 annually. ​
